"The sharp descriptiveness of this story is amazing. I could see, hear, and smell everything that was going on from the first word to the last. From the beginning of the story, I was thoroughly involved in the memorizing plot and the pages of this book could not move fast enough. Filled with tension and intense situations, this was one book that would have to be pried from my hands. I had immediate opinions of the well-developed main characters in the story and was surprised to find myself feeling strong emotions for both of them. Ainsley is a fighter. She does her best to stay level-headed and grounded even under the most extreme circumstances. She experiences believable sensations as she fights with an inner turmoil that is encompassed with conflicting emotions from icy fear to unexplainable arousal. Jace is an alluring, exciting man with deep secrets and a tempting sexual presence. His intentions are known early on so there is no need to waste any biting hatred towards his initial actions. I couldn’t get enough of his masculine sensuality. Despite their unstable situation, they couldn’t help but become intimately involved. Chock full of demanding passion, the sex was breathlessly good. My heart was pounding with their driving need for each other, regardless of their circumstances. Their journey is filled with situational obstacles, menacing adversaries, and plenty of toe-curling, lust-filled sex. Christian is a somewhat too good to be true man and the fact that Shelby is attracted to him even though she caught him with another women doing a very intimate act at first made me roll my eyes. But by the time Shelby and Christian were getting down and dirty, all that was forgotten. These two characters are so enjoyable to read and when they come together sexually, they burn the pages. Shelby has some issues with her body and her line of work but Christian loves Shelby for whom she is and especially becomes very excited when Shelby reads passages out loud from her novels. The only thing that I wished for was a longer story.
